A new school year has begun and our classes are going at full speed. GVS is currently operating in 7 countries and is working to expand the program in at least two more countries in January 2023.
We are currently operating in India, Bangladesh, Tajikistan, Kyrgyz Republic, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan in partnership with the American Spaces – Public Affairs Section of American Embassy.
We are also working in Afghanistan in close partnership with University of Central Asia – School of Professional and Continuing Education (UCA-SPCE).
This project is connecting TEFL-trained teachers to students and youth in South and Central Asia over the internet using an online platform (currently Zoom).
The Global Virtual School (GVS) is an ever-expanding online learning center delivering quality English-language instruction to underprivileged youth and young adults in remote areas of the world. Under the tutelage of the Worldwide Education Fund of The Dallas Foundation, and with the help of technology, GVS has grown from one online ESL class (in Khorog, Tajikistan) into a full-blown online school with dozens of classes and hundreds of students in only 3 and a half years.
The aim of the school is to offer an alternative high school program in English, bringing a
full curriculum to students in remote areas.
T h e Global Virtual School project is unique in that it connects, online and in real[1]time, TEFL trained teachers with students who are eager to improve their English to pursue post-secondary education, career training, and better employment, all of which guarantee an escape from the cycle of generational poverty.
