We are happy to announce the launch of 5 Learning Centers: Integrating Early Childhood Development (ECD) and Technology-Assisted Language Labs in Chitral, Pakistan. This transformative initiative aims to revolutionize the educational landscape by merging ECD programs with state-of-the-art technology labs in free government schools in Booni and beyond.

Earlier this year, WEF, in collaboration with FES, signed an MOU with the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ministry of Elementary and Secondary Education, strengthening our commitment to enhancing education in Chitral, Pakistan. This partnership aligns with the Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG-4) to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.
In a region marked by harsh weather, limited amenities, and economic challenges, our Learning Centers offer a safe, supportive environment equipped with essential resources and led by qualified, innovative teachers. This would not have been possible without the support from our sponsors.
We are grateful for the unwavering support of our sponsors, which has enabled us to open 5 new Learning Centers in Chitral, Pakistan. These centers, strategically located in government schools, blend ECD with Technology-Assisted Language Labs to provide high-quality education. We plan to expand to 2 more centers by September, reaching a total of seven schools in 2024.
Background and Impact
For the past four years, WEF/FES has positively impacted over 1,500 students, 100 teachers and 15 professionals through five In-School Language Labs and one ECD center in Chitral, Pakistan. Our new project aims to extend this success, reaching over 2,000 students across ECD (3–5-year-olds), primary, and secondary levels. This expansion comes in response to the critical need for ECD, technology integration, and quality English language learning in government schools, which have traditionally lacked these essential components.
