The WEF Teachers’ Training Program, a core initiative of the Herzing–Daya Research & Learning Hub at the University of Chitral, builds a competent Early Childhood Development (ECD) workforce for the region.
To date, the program has trained 200+ educators, equipping them with Montessori philosophy, child-centered pedagogy, practical classroom methods, and the principles of nurturing care. Each participant completes rigorous theoretical instruction, hands-on practicum sessions, and pre- and post-training assessments to ensure strong professional competence.
The Training Program operates through a blended learning model, combining face-to-face instruction with digital modules accessible both online and offline, ensuring continuity even in low-connectivity areas. Ongoing mentoring, CPD, and refresher courses support teachers throughout their professional journey.
Aligned with WEF’s long-term vision, the Training Program is preparing the workforce needed to staff 1,200 Early Childhood Learning Centers (ECLCs) by 2035. Its work is strengthened by the emerging WEF Research Hub, which provides evidence-based insights to refine curriculum, training methods, and educational practice.
Looking ahead, WEF will continue expanding access to high-quality learning through digital platforms, local-language educational podcasts, and expert-led discussions on the Nurturing Care Framework, empowering teachers, parents, and communities to support children’s holistic development.
