For almost twenty years, the Helping Hands Ladies Group of Dallas (HHLG) has shown how compassion, unity, and generosity can change lives. What started with a group of 20 women—professionals, entrepreneurs, and homemakers—has become a powerful source of support for education and community development in some of the world’s poorest and most remote regions.Brought together by their shared heritage and a desire to give back, the women of HHLG created a unique way to serve: hosting annual galas filled with South Asian food, music, and culture. What began as evenings of joy and celebration soon turned into a tradition that raised significant funds for meaningful causes. HHLG has hosted more than10 galas, raising support for WEF’s mission while also building a sense of purpose and unity among themselves, their families, and their community. Together, they have sponsored many projects bringing hope to children in places they have never even visited. These gatherings not only helped children and families across the world, but also created bonds of friendship, purpose, and community among the women themselves.

Through their partnership with the Worldwide Education Fund (WEF), the Ladies Group has made possible many life-changing projects. They helped establish the first In-School English Language Lab at Pamir Public School and College in Chitral, Pakistan, and later another at Space Era School. Their support has brought Learning Centers that combine early childhood education with technology-assisted English learning into government schools, and through WEF’s Global Virtual School, they have given students in fifteen countries the chance to learn English and open doors to brighter futures. In Karachi, Pakistan, their generosity funded a Science Lab and Learning Resource Center that continues to inspire both students and teachers. But their impact goes far beyond education. HHLG has brought clean water to villages in Pakistan where none existed before. They have supported women in Khorog, Tajikistan, helping them gain skills, confidence, and independence to build better lives. Their joyful Cookbook Project, filled with recipes from South Asia and America, has become a symbol of culture, connection, and community. And in India, they have supported institutions such as the Fidai Institute and orphanages, ensuring children have access to safe and inspiring places to learn and grow.

The story of the Helping Hands Ladies Group is not just about donations or projects. It is about lives touched, futures shaped, and hope renewed. They have shown that when hearts unite for a common purpose, the distance between Dallas and communities across Asia disappears.
From all of us at WEF, and from the many families whose lives have been transformed, we say thank you. The kindness of the Helping Hands Ladies Group will continue to shine as a light of inspiration for generations to come.
