DESCRIPTION AND IMPACT

Worldwide Education Fund of The Dallas Foundation (WEF) collaborated with Project Mala to fund the Project Mala Secondary College Scholarships Program at the Guria Secondary School located near Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh. This scholarship program supported deserving students as they study in reputed learning programs with access to quality international education and access to training in English language skills.

Under this scholarship WEF sponsored secondary school scholarships for tuition fee, health care and meal of 10 secondary and higher secondary school students. WEF made a total grant of $24000 to sponsor 24 secondary school students starting from October 2015 to November 2020.

VISION
This project envisioned to educate marginalized students in India and break the cycle of generational poverty and foster prosperity through education. WEF aimed to bring change in the lives of these children and through them change in their communities. Through education proper health care and diet, these students will be agents of change in their vulnerable and disadvantaged community and eventually break the cycle of multi-generational poverty.
