Worldwide Education Fund –Vocational Training (WEF-VT) Scholars Program at Emeralde

Location : Mariam Zaveri’s Emeralde International Institute of Hair and Beauty located in Bandra, Mumbai

Status: Implemented

Duration: October 2015 – May 2016

Project Description:

Launched in October 2015, the WEF-VT Scholars Program at Emeralde is an impactful initiative by the WEF Student Ambassador Association (ISAA) in collaboration with the Foundation to Support Education Worldwide (FSEW), Emeralde International Institute of Hair and Beauty, and FEEB Unlimited. Responding to the increasing demand for candidates with vocational and technical skills, the program awarded full scholarships to deserving individuals in suburban Mumbai and rural Gujarat.

Successful recipients underwent a transformative experience, benefiting from a full scholarship to Mariam Zaveri’s Emeralde International Institute of Hair and Beauty. The 6-month professional course in hair and beauty, along with a certification in skin-peel technology, equipped these young girls with foundational skills for a lifetime. This initiative not only enabled them to contribute financially to their families but also served as a trampoline, helping them break free from the cycle of generational poverty.

As a gesture of support, each candidate received a token kit of tools of the trade from the Worldwide Education Fund at the end of the program. All students have successfully graduated, with some already securing positions as beauticians in local parlors. WEF congratulates these graduates on their achievements, marking a significant step toward a brighter and more empowered future.
