Project Description:
WEF partnered with Project Mala to fund the Secondary College Scholarships Program at Guria Secondary School near Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. This initiative supported 10 students with tuition fees, healthcare, and meals, providing access to quality international education and English language skills training. WEF’s grant of $24,000 sponsored 24 secondary school students from October 2015 to November 2020.
The vision of this project was to break the cycle of generational poverty in India by providing education to marginalized students. WEF aimed to empower these students to become agents of change in their communities through education, proper healthcare, and nutrition, ultimately breaking the cycle of multi-generational poverty.
