Status: Implemented
Duration: September 2017 – September 2018
Project Description:
WEF collaborates with Hearth House to empower refugee children with technology education. Recognizing the limited access to technology in their backgrounds, this initiative aims to upgrade outdated resources, offering students the opportunity to engage in diverse disciplines like online research, typing, coding, and website creation. These practical skills level the playing field, enhancing readiness for higher academic pursuits and future employment.
The technology infusion will bolster the core program at Hearth House, known as the Head, Heart, and Hands (H3) program. Focused on cognitive learning, character development, and building self-esteem, H3 offers academic support, play therapy, and social-emotional programming. The grant initiative targets 60 students, providing them with a pathway to future success through enhanced technological resources and comprehensive educational support.
