Where Education Reaches, Hope Begins
What began with just 11 Bright Beginnings: Early Childhood Learning Centers (ECLCs) has now grown into a movement of hope across Upper and Lower Chitral, Pakistan.
Today, we are proud to announce that 100 Bright Beginnings: ECLC Centers are now operational, bringing Early Childhood Development (ECD) to children in some of the most remote, underserved, and hard-to-reach communities in the region.
Each center serves 30 young learners and is led by a local woman educator supported by aide. Through this expansion, we are now facilitating:
- 3,000 students
- 100 local women educators
- 100 classroom aides

Many of these villages have never had access to structured early learning opportunities before. Some are established in areas near international border regions, including Lot Kuh region, one of Chitral’s most remote communities near the Afghanistan border. Families often live far from educational facilities, and young children—especially girls—are the first to be left behind. Through this initiative, we are bringing quality early education directly into communities that have long been overlooked.
Our mission is simple but urgent: every child deserves a strong beginning.
These centers are more than classrooms—they are safe spaces for learning, confidence, and opportunity, while also creating meaningful employment for local women within their own communities
Looking ahead, our vision is ambitious yet achievable:
WEF plans to establish 100 additional ECLCs across Upper and Lower Chitral by April 2027.
- By 2030, this will grow to 500 centers serving 15,000 students and 1,000 women educators
- 1,200 centers by 2035 and benefiting 36,000 students and 2,400 educators
This expansion requires a projected investment of USD 4 million (approx. 120 Crore PKR) to support infrastructure, learning resources, teacher training, and program sustainability.
