Worldwide Education Fund (WEF) launched its pilot Early Childhood Learning Center (ECLC) at Oxford School Booni, Chitral, Pakistan, on October 12, 2024. The center is now fully operational, furnished with essential Early Childhood Development (ECD) materials, smart technology, and thoughtfully curated resources to create an enriching learning environment for young children.
ECLCs are a part of WEF’s broader mission to provide quality education in remote valleys where children often face the challenge of walking miles to reach the nearest schools. These centers will be run by aspiring teachers and ECD practitioners, who will offer children in these underserved regions access to foundational education, critical for their growth and development. With this pilot phase, 26 eager learners have already benefited from the ECLC. At the heart of this success is a skilled team of educators, who have been equipped with hands-on Montessori training to bring out the best in each child, fostering creativity, curiosity, and a love for learning.
WEF’s vision is bold: we aim to establish 100 such centers across Upper and Lower Chitral, ultimately impacting 2,500 students. This initiative not only addresses the educational needs of children but also aims to empower women by creating employment opportunities. WEF is committed to subsidizing fees, ensuring that teachers are supported financially and can focus entirely on delivering high-quality education without the strain of low fee turnover.
WEF remains dedicated to building a future where every child has the resources and support they need to dream big and achieve their full potential.
