Location : Khorog, Tajikistan
Status: Active
Project Description:
The project’s mission is to establish a robust job market in Tajikistan by cultivating cybersecurity skills. WEF, in collaboration with UCA-SPCE, launched a Proof of Concept (POC) for a 10-course Cyber Security Certification Program on the EdX platform. Scholarships are provided to qualified candidates from Tajikistan with prerequisite skills.
During phase-1 the execution plan involves identifying 3-5 candidates with teaching and IT backgrounds, certifying them, and then employing them to teach cybersecurity courses for 2 years. Simultaneously, collaboration with local learning institutions is underway to integrate certified courses into their curriculum, ensuring a sustainable impact. Finally, the project connects certified graduates with opportunities in IT services and consulting companies, fostering a comprehensive approach to skill development and employment.
Current Impact:
The three certified candidates are currently employed by the University of Central Asia School of Professional & Continuing Education (UCA-SPCE). They are actively engaged in teaching nine Cyber Security Certification Programs, benefiting a total of 33 students at UCA-SPCE.
