English Language Skills Training for Teachers

Location: Booni Chitral Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pakistan

Status: Active

Project Description:

English Language Skills Training for Teachers is an initiative of Worldwide Education Fund of The Dallas Foundation (WEF), USA in partnership with Bridge Education Group. Bridge has offered and sponsored the three – month, self-paced, tutor guided, online Micro Credential TEFL certification to 08 teachers from the remote valley of Booni, Chitral in Northern Pakistan.

WEF provides the platform and necessary technology support to the teachers for taking the course which otherwise would not have been possible. To ensure active and effective engagement with the course, WEF organized weekly reflection sharing sessions. The teachers gather once in a week and share their understanding of the module and engage in discussion regarding the course. At the end of the course the teacher will do a practicum and submit a comprehensive assignment based on their understanding of the course. WEF will provide the practicum opportunities for the teachers at their In-School Language Labs to put theory into practice

Current Impact:

Under this program, 08 teachers received certificates in the first round of the training. We are currently impacting 13. So in total, we have trained 21 teachers to teach quality English Language skills and classroom management.
